HOW DO PRP INJECTIONS WORK?

PRP consists of your own blood plasma concentrated with 3 to 5 times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood. These concentrated platelets contain protein and growth factors to attract stem cells, increase circulation, and help stimulate collagen production. PRP Injections are different than filler in that instead of injecting a substance that will gradually absorb over time, PRP Injections help to stimulate your body’s own production of blood vessels, new skin cells, and collagen.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Patients with mild to moderate fine lines and wrinkles, scarring from acne, and hyperpigmentation from sun exposure are good candidates for PRP Injections. At your initial consultation, Tondue’s highly-trained staff will conduct a complete health assessment and review your aesthetic goals with you. We’ll answer your questions and recommend a treatment plan that is fully customized to your concerns and objectives.

WHAT ARE PRP INJECTIONS LIKE?

The first step to PRP Injections is a blood draw. Our nurse will take a small sample of blood from your arm, then the sample is processed in a centrifuge to separate out the components: plasma and platelets.

After receiving a topical anesthetic so you are comfortable, the blood that contains the high concentration of platelets is then injected into your face using a syringe.

You may experience redness and mild to moderate swelling in the treated area. You will need to refrain from wearing any makeup for the first 24 hours following your treatment.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?

Most patients see optimal results after receiving 3 or more treatments. Results can last for as long as 18 months.
