DiamondGlow® is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that uses dermabrasion techniques to exfoliate and resurface the skin. However, it does more than exfoliate the skin and uses specialized techniques to infuse serums into the top layer to promote skin health and radiance.

The treatment uses a patented recessed diamond tip wand to eliminate the dead skin cells which prevent patients from experiencing all the benefits of healthy, clear, rejuvenated skin. We offer the top level of DiamondGlow® treatments so patients can achieve their healthiest, brighter skin.

Not only does this treatment deliver an effective form of physical exfoliation to remove dead skin cells that prevent you from achieving a healthy-looking complexion, but it also delivers topical cosmetic serums into the skin to create improvements at a deeper level. By infusing professional-grade skin care serums into the skin, we can help treat several different skin concerns. The device can:

• Help eliminate hyperpigmentation

• Improve overall skin, texture, and tone
• Eliminate rough patches
• Make the skin appear glowing and radiant
• Smooth, fine lines and wrinkles

In addition, DiamondGlow® extracts debris from the superficial skin layer through the use of high-powered suction, making it a highly effective 3-in-1 treatment. Extraction is important both for immediately improving the health and appearance of the skin and for allowing greater perfusion of the serums in step three.

A DiamondGlow® treatment takes anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes to complete. During your treatment, your skin will undergo a three-step process, including exfoliation to uncover a healthier layer, extractions to cleanse the skin and remove buildup from the pores, and infusions. During this third and final step, we use one of the five different SkinMedica® infusion serums and will personalize your treatment based on your skin types and needs. These five serums include:

• Skin brightening serum: The Even & Correct Advanced Brightening Pro-Infusion Serum has been demonstrated in clinical research settings to effectively treat melasma and other instances of hyperpigmentation. It is formulated with highly concentrated lotus sprout extract, plankton extract, and vitis vinifera to provide natural complexion and texture support with no retinol or fragrances.
• Ultra hydrating serum: Fortified with hyaluronic acid, a molecule naturally produced by the body that draws in water with incredible efficiency (absorbs up to 1,000 times its weight), the ultra hydrating serum and its take-home equivalent (HA5 Hydra Collagen Replenish + Restore Hydrator) are carefully formulated with multiple forms of hyaluronic acid and plant-based nutrients to gently hydrate and nourish the skin.
• Vitamin C serum: DiamondGlow® goes well beyond your typical one-dimensional vitamin C complex, fortifying their serum with Theobroma Aleteromonas ferment extract, cacao seed extract, bioflavonoids, shea butter, and much more to help the skin recover and restore its radiance.
• Pore clarifying serum: Harnessing the exfoliating and nourishing power of salicylic acid, bakuchiol (antioxidant), and oregano oil (another antioxidant), the pore clarifying serum creates a smooth, uniform appearance to the skin while reducing the appearance of pores. It’s sulphate-, sulphite-, paraben-, and fragrance-free.
• SkinMedica® Signature TNS® Advanced+ serum: Growth factors, hydrating compounds, and antioxidant ingredients allow for comprehensive benefits. This serum fortifies the skin against stressors, enhances hydration for a more rejuvenated look, and can minimize fine lines and wrinkles in the process.

The majority of people who receive this treatment report mild suctioning, tingling, and/or itching sensations throughout the treatment. In the vast majority of cases, the sensation is mildly uncomfortable at most, though those with more sensitive skin and/or any small lesions within the treatment area (both of these issues will be carefully assessed prior to treatment) may experience greater discomfort.

While the most common use of DiamondGlow® centers around the face, where it rivals the effects of even the best facial treatments on the market, it can also be applied throughout many other areas of the body to great effect.

These areas include, but are not limited to the following:

• Neck: Both the neck and commonly exposed upper chest area (decolletage) can benefit from DiamondGlow®, which treats fine lines, sun spots, and other imperfections in these areas.
• Arms: DiamondGlow® treats dry skin, bumps, and uneven skin tone affecting the arms
• Hands: Dry, chapped skin of the hands is effectively treated by DiamondGlow®
• Torso: DiamondGlow® can minimize the appearance of stretch marks on the torso
• Thighs: DiamondGlow® treatment reduces the appearance of cellulite affecting the thighs
• Chest/Breasts: Stretch marks, sun damage, and wrinkles are all common to this area, all of which DiamondGlow® can effectively minimize

While every treatment, non-invasive or otherwise, comes with potential side effects, those associated with DiamondGlow® are very mild, and typically resolve on their own. Severe side effects are extremely rare, but possible.

More common side effects include mild redness immediately following the treatment, swelling of the treatment area, a sensation of skin tightness, prickly or tingling sensations persisting after the treatment, and dry and/or peeling skin.

Rare side effects include blisters, infections, minor bruising, cold sores, and more pronounced skin irritation. If you notice any of these issues, contact your dermatologist to safely address them. 

Even though DiamondGlow® is a quick, convenient, and non-invasive treatment, there are still several practices that patients are generally recommended to follow in order to ensure optimal results.

While your specific instructions may be individualized to reflect your unique circumstances, some of the most typical guidelines include not applying makeup for at least 24 hours following treatment (and avoiding retinoids or other powerful products for at least 48 hours), protecting yourself from the sun with high-SPF sunblock and avoiding hot tubs, saunas, and other sources of high heat for at least 24 hours. It’s also important to refrain from strenuous activity and picking or scratching the treated area.

As for things that you should do, using gentle cleansers and moisturizers is recommended until the skin has fully recovered from treatment. Use any products your provider recommends, stay well hydrated, get plenty of rest, and follow a balanced diet to help fortify your skin with the elements it needs to repair, defend itself, and more.
