Cellulite is a natural part of women’s biology; cellulite is not fat, is not caused by diet, and is not impacted by exercise or activity levels. QWO® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

QWO® contains enzymes called collagenases that address the structural causes of cellulite: the skin thinning over time, fat cells enlarging and pushing against the skin, and fibrous bands beneath the skin thickening and causing tension. Initial studies suggest that QWO® works in 3 ways: releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen. 

QWO® treatments are typically performed in a series of 3 visits, 21 days apart. Each treatment visit may include up to 2 treatment areas.

At each QWO® treatment appointment, a Tondue Medical Spa provider will inject QWO® directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle. The treatment will only take about 10 minutes. You should not receive QWO® if you are allergic to collagenase or the ingredients in QWO®, or if you have an active infection in the treatment area.

Visible results from QWO® may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO®, 21 days apart. 

Clinical studies demonstrate that QWO® significantly reduces—but does not totally eradicate—cellulite. Currently there is no data that looks at how long QWO®‘s smoothing effects last. Because QWO® is a brand-new treatment, published studies have not followed QWO® patients’ results longer than 90 days.

The most common side effects of QWO® include injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling, and warmth in the treatment area.
